West End Dental Inc Reopening
West End Dental is excited to begin seeing patients safely. These are unprecedented times, and we want to reassure you that we have taken every precaution to ensure your safety and wellbeing during your visit.

We are limiting the number of patients in the office in order to maintain appropriate social distance. We ask that you provide your own face mask when in the office, use provided hand sanitizer, and that you come to your appointment alone unless accompaniment is required.

All patients will be screened with a contactless temperature check, pulse oximeter reading, and verbal questionnaire.

We ask that you understand that our provider's time is more crucial than ever and request that you be prompt to your appointment, arriving no sooner or later than your appointment time. Understand that if you cancel your appointment less than 48 hours in advance or are more than 15 minutes late to your visit, we will charge your account a $75.00 non-refundable fee.

Thank you for your understanding and patience during these unprecedented times. Please watch the video below for more information.

The Importance of Eating Crunchy Foods When It Comes to Having Healthy Teeth

Posted on 4/25/2020 by Dr. James A. Krippaehne
The Importance of Eating Crunchy Foods When It Comes to Having Healthy Teeth When trying to maintain a healthy balance in your diet, for your body and your teeth, you'll want to make sure that you add crunchy foods into your daily meals. Of course, the crunchy foods we mean include fresh produce and other healthy options. Let us take a minute to tell you some of the reasons crunchy, healthy foods are important to maintaining good dental health.

What Eating Crunchy Foods Does for Your Teeth

Eating crunchy foods helps scrape off plaque and tartar from your teeth. Hard and crunchy foods, such as apples and granola, assist in scraping off the harmful bacteria from your teeth and up against your gums. You can do things like adding salads into your diet, or if you already enjoy them, you can even add some croutons into your salad to help with a little extra crunch.

Why It is so Important to Eat Hard Foods

Hard foods scrape off the harmful bacteria that stick to your teeth, which may result in plaque and tartar. Plaque and tartar can be very harmful to your entire mouth. When plaque is left to grow, it can turn into tartar, which reveals itself as a brown or yellowish substance that sticks to your teeth. Plaque can cause dental decay and gum disease, which is very dangerous when left untreated. As you can now see, eating crunchy, healthy foods is practically essential to keeping your mouth healthy. What many people don't know is that good dental health also helps with good overall health. If you find yourself in need of a solid dental cleaning on top of adding these crunchy items to your diet, then give our office a call and we will set up an appointment for you. Always remember; an apple a day helps keep plaque away!
